Award-winning author of the Trading Heartbeats trilogy.
When I’m not writing, I spend my time serving as the executive director of The Writing Champions Project, a global writing community. I am also the impact manager with Burning Soul Collective and am an award-winning instructor and academic advisor in the School of Communication at Illinois State University where I teach coursework in writing for public relations, magazine production and design, and public speaking.
I earned my master’s degrees in organizational communication and English studies with an emphasis in book history, and a bachelor’s degree in public relations, graduating cum laude from Illinois State University. I am passionate about investing in my community and will often take on freelance or contractual jobs to help non-profits implement strategic social media strategies. Most recently, I collaborated with Labyrinth Made Goods, a social enterprise with YWCA McLean County.
Additionally, I serve as an adjunct faculty member and continuing education instructor at Heartland Community College and am a national board member for the Association for Women in Communications. I’m a mom to three children: Lillian, Colton, and Brady and have been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Tommy for eleven years. We have two rescue pups, Snoopy and Dexter Morgan.
